Solving Complex Spatial Analysis Problems with QGIS
I gave a talk at the recent QGIS Open Day event showing the analytical capabilities of the QGIS for solving a wide range of complex problems. Check out the video to get a whirlwind tour of Processing Algorithms, Modeler, Expressions, Data Defined Overrides, Geometry Generators, PyQGIS scripting and PostGIS integration to see what you can do with this amazing piece of free and open-source software. You can now view the Presentation and watch the session recording on YouTube.
New Course
We are building a new advanced-level course called Advanced Concepts in Google Earth Engine that covers Reducers, Joins, Regressions, and Vector Data Processing in GEE.
We released the first module of the course with open-source code. To make the course even more accessible we are also releasing the video recording of the class along with the text-based materials. Other modules to follow soon.
Guided Project: Extracting Nighttime Lights Statistics
We published a 6-part video-based guided project that helps you learn how to work with Nighttime Lights and Landcover datasets to extract long time-series statistics using GEE. It's a beginner-friendly project that will help you practice Map/Reduce programming skills and build confidence in implementing your workflows.
Data Editing with Mapshaper
It’s no secret that my favorite open-source geospatial tool is Mapshaper. I have used it for many years and love the speed and simplicity of it. I have now started building a new workshop that teaches how to use this tool for data cleaning, editing, analysis, and visualization. Check out the new series of short videos to learn the basics. Subscribe to our YouTube channel to watch the next set of videos when they are published.
I am taking a break from teaching online classes for the next few months due to travel. I will be in Kenya in September to teach a Google Earth Engine workshop followed by another Earth Engine workshop at Geo for Good in California in October.
Regular classes will resume in November. Check out all our Courses and Sign up on the waitlist to be the first one to know when you can register for a live class.
