New Course: Mapping and Data Visualization with Python
Our long-awaited intermediate Python course Mapping and Data Visualization with Python was launched earlier this year in September. This course covers techniques for creating charts, maps and dashboards - along with teaching advanced geospatial data processing using Pandas, GeoPandas, and XArray. This is the perfect course to level up your Python skills once you have mastered the basics. As always, all of my learning materials are completely open and free for self-study. Check out the full course material on our OpenCourseWare site. If you want to take our online class and earn a certificate, we also have a live instructor-led class scheduled next month.
Featured: Geo for Good Summit 2022
I got the opportunity to attend Google’s Geo for Good Summit in California in-person. After two long years, I got to meet my collaborators, students, and mentors at this event. The summit was packed with talks and workshops that are all available online for on-demand viewing. I gave a talk on Time-Series Processing using Google Earth Engine where I focused on understanding Joins and how to apply them in a variety of analyses. You can now watch the recording on YouTube.

New (Free!) Earth Engine Book!
Over the past year I was involved in a massive effort to author and publish an open-access book on Google Earth Engine. The book is the result of collaboration among 100+ volunteer authors, editors and reviewers. The book Earth Engine: Fundamentals and Applications - or EEFA for short - is a free open-access book with 55-chapters covering both basics of GEE as well as applications in various domains. Check out the book at https://www.eefabook.org/. To make the material even most accessible, each chapter is accompanied by a video walkthrough of the material by the author. If you have been waiting to learn Earth Engine - this is a perfect resource for you to jump-start your learning journey.
